Studying in Japan will certainly be an unforgettable experience!

If you are going to study for 1 year or more, or if you are eligible for the Working Holiday Visa, you can also work.

When deciding to study Japanese in Japan, students need to make a number of important decisions, but perhaps the first and most important one is: where to study?

Unless they have a personal reason for choosing a specific place, people generally prefer to learn Japanese in Tokyo or anywhere except Tokyo. Both are valid choices, with their own pros and cons. Decide which one you prefer and choose a school accordingly.

In the city, you can have a more “fun” stay, but being out in the country, where few people speak English, can give you more opportunities to practice and deeper relationships with the people around you.

Many language schools are clustered in and around Tokyo, which is where many people want to go. However, you should be aware that Tokyo is very different from most of the rest of Japan and it’s easier to survive in Tokyo without using your Japanese language skills (i.e. less external motivation to learn).

The climate also varies widely from place to place – northern Japan can be very cold, with long periods of snow in winter, while Okinawa is a subtropical goodness.

Kyushu (where the GenkiJACS school in Fukuoka is located) is warmer than most of Japan and has beautiful beaches! And of course there are many things that can only be done in Tokyo, from the Ghibli Museum to Akihabara.

LANGUAGE SCHOOLS

FUKUOKA, KYOTO, TOKYO AND NAGOYA

Genki

Genki has everything you need to have the best experience of your life because, in addition to an excellent Japanese language school, it is also a cultural center in Japan, where you really experience all aspects of this country that is an example in almost everything .

To make your experience in Japan even more complete, if you are studying at Genki for 12 months (1 year) at the Fukuoka campus, you will have a study visa and therefore you will be able to work up to 28 hours a week on class days and, 40 hours a week during course vacations.

The first step of your project, after choosing your course at Genki, is to apply for the COE – Certificate of Eligibility and this process is very simple because we, together with the school, will give you the list of documents you need to send and the school will take care of the application with no charge.

The COE application takes about 3 months to be completed.

Once the school gets a positive response on your COE application, you will need to pay them for your course fees.

After they receive the payment, they will send you the COE to be taken to the Japanese embassy/consulate closest to you together with your passport to get the visa registered on it.

Your time to go to Japan has arrived!
